Wow - Time FLIES!

So, I didn't win any medals in the Knitting Olympics. That's okay. I made some good progress on a sock before deciding that I really didn't like the yarn I was using or the way it wasturning out and scrapped it! I need to get some yarn I love, rather than something that is in the bargain bin, to do my first socks, I think! My rationale was "It's cheap - so if they don't turn out - oh well!" BUt I didn't like the color, didn't like the feel, didn't really like it!! I think I am going to try some of the gorgeous colors that I've seen over on Lolly's site (from the company that is making the Project Spectrum yarns).

I am making REALLY good progress on some baby gifts for my soon to be nephew or niece!! And I have lots of time - the baby isn't due til sometime in Sept or Oct. I need to get cracking on a few baby gifts for friends that are due over teh next few months.

Had a FUN trip to the fabric store the other day. Got some home dec fabric cheap. Going to make some bags. Haven't sewn in a while and I have the itch to get back to it.

Organizing my craft space is getting me excited about crafting!! Now I just need to find the right table....maybe do some garage saling or flea marketing this Spring.

And they're off....

The socks are started! I am using a pattern that my LYS uses for their easy sock class. I will post the name when I think of it! I took the sock along to my friend's house last night and she said "Hey - it already looks like part of a sock!!" That was VERY encouraging!! She is the friend that APPRECIATES my hobby - unlike the friend who has of late been picking on my hobby!

I am still (I know - it's day 3!) still working on the 10 rows of ribbing - it is taking me a while to be comfortable with all those dpns!!!

I actually haven't knit yet today - so hopefully when I sit down to do that I will get to teh leg part of the sock! When I do I will try to figure out how to post a picture, too!

Knitting Olympics

I've taken the plunge and signed up - and told my friend about it - so now I have to do it!! I signed up to make a pair of socks - my first pair of socks - now I just need a patterna nd yarn. Hmmm - trip to the yarn store!! Darn!!

Well, I have starter-itis! I have started knitting several projects and I just need to FINISH one!!! I have a Booga Bag, a Lucy Bag, and a baby blanket in the works. Oh - I also have a Crayola Cuties bag ready to felt - but I am nervous!!! I will try to get a picture up soon!

Hello! I am starting this blog so that I will have a place to post my progress - and an inspiration to actually make progress so I have somethig to post!!!! I currently have several works in progress. A Lucy bag - about 20% done. A Booga bag - very early stages! Several scarves. And some socks that are just yarn and needles at this point!!!!!!!!
